Legal Information
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This page contains the legal information for this website and for the course, training and production-support services offered through it. It identifies the company that operates the site, explains how that company is registered and disclosed under United Kingdom law, sets out the rules that apply when you browse or use the site, and shows how our other policies fit together with this notice. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, our Terms and Conditions and our Payment and Refund Policy. Nothing on this page reduces or replaces the statutory rights you have as a consumer in the United Kingdom.
1. Identity of the website operator and its role
This website is operated under the name plazalink and is published by Adlib Audio Limited, a company established in England and Wales. The site is an informative resource dedicated to audiovisual production excellence, covering broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering and the streamlined workflows used by television networks and live event producers.
In the context of this website, Adlib Audio Limited acts in three separate capacities, and it is helpful to keep them apart:
- As the operator and publisher of the site, we decide which content is published, how it is presented and how the site is maintained.
- As the provider of services, we are the party you contract with when you enrol on a course, book a training place, request a quotation or purchase any other service described on the site.
- As the data controller, we determine why and how personal data collected through the site, through enquiry forms and through bookings is processed, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Where this page uses the words the company, we, us or our, those words refer to Adlib Audio Limited. Where it refers to the site or this website, it means the pages published under the name plazalink together with any subdomains and any content we make available through them.
2. Legal form, registration details, tax identifiers and responsible representatives
Adlib Audio Limited is a private company limited by shares. It is registered in England and Wales with the Registrar of Companies, and its affairs are recorded on the public register maintained by Companies House in the United Kingdom.
- Company Registration Number: 03555097
- Value Added Tax Number: 477222243
- Legal jurisdiction of registration: England and Wales
- Registered office: 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK
2.1 Why these identifiers are published
Under the Companies Act 2006 and the related trading-disclosure regulations, a company that operates a website must disclose its registered name, the part of the United Kingdom in which it is registered, its registered number and the address of its registered office. The registration number is the identifier that allows anyone to look the company up on the public register and to confirm its current status, its filing history and the identity of its officers. Under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, a business selling services online must also publish its name, a geographic address and a direct means of contact, together with its registration number and tax identifier where it has one. The Provision of Services Regulations 2009 require additional disclosures from service providers, including the providers legal form and details of how complaints are handled.
2.2 Tax and invoicing
The VAT number shown above is the number used on invoices and credit notes issued by the company in respect of supplies made in the United Kingdom. Where a course fee or service charge is subject to VAT, the amount and rate are shown separately in the quotation, order confirmation or invoice. If you are a business customer and need the registration details of the supplier to be printed on an invoice for your own records, our finance team can confirm the wording that will appear.
2.3 Responsible representatives and professional conduct
The directors and company secretary of Adlib Audio Limited, and any changes to them, are a matter of public record at Companies House. Correspondence intended for the directors may be sent to the registered office shown above or addressed through the contact route in section 3. Where work involves regulated matters such as electrical installation, rigging, or the operation of equipment in public venues, the company and its subcontractors work to the applicable British Standards, industry codes of practice and site-specific safety rules, and produce the risk assessments, method statements and insurance documents that clients and venues require.
3. Registered office and contact details
The registered office of Adlib Audio Limited, being the address at which formal notices and legal documents may be served on the company, is 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK.
Written enquiries about this website, about our courses, or about any document referenced on this page may be sent to us by email at [email protected] or raised by telephone on +44 (0)1344 649400. You can also use the contact form on our Contacts page, which is monitored during normal United Kingdom office hours. Please include your name, the course or service you are asking about, and any booking or invoice reference, so that we can route your message to the right team quickly. We aim to acknowledge written enquiries promptly, and to give a substantive reply within a reasonable period; urgent matters relating to a course that is already running should always be raised by telephone.
Because we deliver training and technical services at venues, studios and live event sites, the place where a course or service is actually delivered may differ from the registered office. The location of any particular course or project is confirmed in the booking confirmation or in the project documentation issued before work begins. Please do not send items of value or time-critical documents to a delivery address that has not been confirmed in writing.
4. Purpose, scope and intended audience of this website
The site exists to inform, teach and assist people who work with, or want to work with, audiovisual production technology. Its content covers broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, signal flow, and the production workflows that allow television networks, venues and live event teams to operate reliably under time pressure.
The material is written primarily for an audience in the United Kingdom, although it is published in English and may be read from anywhere in the world. It is intended for professional and aspiring technicians, producers, venue staff, students and production managers. Courses and paid services offered through the site are sold to businesses and to individual consumers in accordance with the applicable United Kingdom consumer legislation.
The site is a source of general guidance. It is not a substitute for site-specific risk assessment, for the manufacturers operating instructions, for electrical or structural engineering advice, or for the judgement of a competent person on site. Where a course or guide suggests a technical approach, that approach must still be assessed against the equipment, venue, audience and legal requirements of the particular production.
5. Access to the website and acceptable use
5.1 Access and availability
Access to the informational parts of the site is free of charge. Access to courses and services is subject to booking, availability and payment of the applicable fee. You are responsible for the equipment, software and internet connection needed to reach the site, and for keeping any account credentials confidential. Where a facility is described as available on a particular date or at a particular venue, that description does not guarantee availability until a booking is confirmed by us in writing.
5.2 Permitted use
You may browse the site freely, print or download individual pages for your own private study, quotation or internal business reference, and share links to our pages with colleagues. Where we publish diagrams, checklists or templates, you may use them internally in your own organisation, provided that our authorship and any copyright notice is not removed.
5.3 Prohibited use
You must not use the site in a way that damages it or interferes with other peoples use of it. In particular you must not:
- copy, republish, resell or systematically extract substantial parts of the site for a commercial purpose without our written permission;
- scrape the site with automated tools, or impose an unreasonable load on our hosting infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any server, account, database or network connected to the site;
- upload or transmit malicious code, or use the site to distribute unsolicited advertising;
- misrepresent your identity, your qualifications or your affiliation with us or with any client;
- use the site for any purpose that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, or that infringes the rights of another person.
Where we have reasonable grounds to believe that a serious breach has occurred, we may suspend access, cancel a booking, or take legal action, and we may report the matter to the relevant authority.
6. Ownership and permitted use of content, trade marks and other intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the site and in its content are owned by Adlib Audio Limited or are licensed to it. That includes text, photographs, technical diagrams, illustrations, video, course notes, teaching materials, slide decks, assessment papers, downloadable checklists, page layouts and the underlying code.
The company name, the name under which the site is operated, our logos, and any other business names, product names or slogans used on the site are trade marks of the company or are used with the permission of their owners. No licence to use a trade mark is granted by these pages, and nothing in this notice should be read as granting one. Third-party names, logos, product names and equipment references appear on the site only for identification, instruction, compatibility and compatibility-testing purposes, and remain the property of their respective owners.
Course delegates receive teaching materials solely for their own learning and internal reference. Course materials must not be shared outside the delegates organisation, published, recorded for redistribution, or used to deliver training for a fee without our prior written consent. Recordings of sessions, whether in person or online, are not permitted except where we have agreed in advance that they may be made.
If you believe that content on this site infringes your intellectual property rights, please write to us at [email protected] with a description of the material, the right you claim, and the page on which it appears. We investigate each notification and will remove or amend material where removal is appropriate.
7. Accuracy, availability and proportionate limitation of liability
We take care to ensure that technical information published on the site is accurate when it is written, and we review material periodically. Even so, the technology described changes quickly, and equipment can behave differently in different venues, on different firmware versions and inside different signal chains. The site is therefore provided for general information, and any figures, timings, capacities, signal levels or compatibility suggestions must be verified against your own equipment and confirmed on site before a production is committed to them.
We do not promise that the site will always be available, uninterrupted or free of error. Hosting, telecommunications links and third-party components can fail, and we may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, updates, security work or reasons outside our control. We will take reasonable steps to keep interruptions infrequent and short.
Nothing in this notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that:
- we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the informational parts of the site;
- we are not liable for business decisions, specification choices or technical approaches taken on the basis of general material published here without independent verification;
- where goods or services are supplied under a contract with us, the liability provisions of our Terms and Conditions apply instead of this section.
If you are a consumer, no term of this notice affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and where a term would be unfair in your particular circumstances it does not apply to you.
8. External links and third-party content
The site may refer to external resources, manufacturer documentation, standards bodies, software tools or publications produced by other organisations. Such references are provided for convenience and for further reading. We do not control external sites and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, content or privacy practices. A reference to a third-party product, standard or supplier does not imply that we endorse it, nor that we are acting as its agent.
Where we embed or quote third-party content, we do so lawfully and with attribution where required. If you follow a link away from this site, the terms and policies of the destination site will apply to you. We recommend that you read those terms before providing personal data or making a purchase.
9. Privacy, data protection and cookies in the United Kingdom
We process personal data in accordance with the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). In summary, we collect the information needed to respond to your enquiries, administer bookings, deliver courses, issue invoices, keep proper business records, and improve the site. We rely on the lawful bases of performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business, and consent where consent is the appropriate basis, such as for optional marketing messages.
We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or for the period required by law, including tax and accounting rules. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it, and we share it only with service providers who help us run the site and deliver our services, and who are bound to protect it, or where the law requires disclosure.
You have the right to be informed, to request access to your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in the circumstances set out in the legislation, to restrict or object to certain processing, to data portability where it applies, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office, the United Kingdom supervisory authority, although we would prefer the opportunity to resolve your concern first through the contact route in section 3.
The site uses a site-wide cookie banner and a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies make the site work and remember your cookie choices; optional analytics or measurement cookies are used only with your consent and can be refused or withdrawn through the banner at any time. PECR requires us to obtain consent before storing or reading information on your device except where the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested. Full detail of the cookies used, their purposes and their lifetimes is set out in our Cookie Policy, and details of the personal data we hold are set out in our Privacy Policy.
10. Courses, bookings, payment terms and refunds
Course places are subject to availability and are confirmed only when we issue written confirmation. Fees, dates, venues and any prerequisites are described on the relevant course page or in the quotation issued to you. Where a course is booked by a business, the person making the booking confirms that they are authorised to commit that organisation to the fee.
Standard payment terms are stated on the invoice. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, invoices are payable within the period shown on the invoice, and we may suspend or cancel a booking where payment is overdue. Fees for bespoke training, on-site delivery and consulting work may be quoted as fixed sums or on a time-and-materials basis, and travel and subsistence costs are charged separately where they apply.
If you are a consumer and you book a course at a distance, that is online, by telephone or by email, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 normally give you a fourteen day cancellation period from the date the contract is concluded. That right can be affected where a course is delivered within the cancellation period and you have asked for it to begin early, or where a booking is for a specific date and the service has been fully performed. Transfers, substitutions, postponements and refunds, including what happens when a delegate cannot attend, when a course is cancelled by us, or when a supplier fails to deliver, are governed by our Payment and Refund Policy, which forms part of your contract with us. Where the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill, and where a course is not delivered in accordance with the contract you are entitled to the remedies that Act provides.
11. Accessibility, complaints and dispute resolution
We want our course material and our website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology, and we work towards the accessibility guidance published by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. If you meet a barrier on the site, need material in a different format, or require a reasonable adjustment to attend a course, please contact us using the details in section 3 and we will consider what can reasonably be done.
If something goes wrong, please tell us first. A complaint should be sent to [email protected] or made by telephone on +44 (0)1344 649400, with enough detail for us to investigate, including dates, names, course titles and any reference numbers. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly, to investigate fairly, and to explain the outcome and any remedy we propose in writing.
Consumers may also use the services of alternative dispute resolution providers and consumer advice services recognised in the United Kingdom. We are not obliged to participate in a particular alternative dispute resolution scheme, but we set out our position on referral and escalation in our Terms and Conditions. Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising your right to bring a claim in court.
12. Applicable law, competent courts and consumer rights
These legal notices, the use of the site, and any non-contractual disputes connected with them are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you use the site as a business, you and we agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you use the site as a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply where you are resident.
Where you contract with us for goods or services, the governing law and jurisdiction clauses in our Terms and Conditions apply to that contract, and those clauses do not deprive consumers of the protection afforded by the mandatory rules of their country of residence. If any provision of this notice is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
13. Cross-references to our other policies
This page summarises our legal status and the framework for using the site. It does not replace the documents that govern specific activities. Please read the following, which form part of the terms on which the site and our services are provided:
- Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with and how to exercise your data protection rights.
- Cookie Policy lists the cookies and similar technologies used on the site, their purpose and their lifetime, and explains how to accept, refuse or withdraw consent through the cookie banner.
- Terms and Conditions the contractual rules for access to the site, for bookings, for acceptable use and for liability, including our equipment hire and services terms where they apply.
- Payment and Refund Policy the payment methods we accept, invoicing arrangements, cancellation and transfer rules, and how refunds are calculated and paid.
14. Changes to this notice and how to contact us
We review this legal information page regularly and will update it when our registration details change, when we introduce new services, when the law changes, or when we improve how we explain things. The version published on this page is the current version and replaces all earlier versions. Material changes will be signposted on the site for a reasonable period, and where a change affects an existing booking we will notify the person who made that booking.
Questions, requests and formal notices relating to this page should be addressed to the registered office at 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK, sent by email to [email protected], or raised by telephone on +44 (0)1344 649400.
